How this is calculated

We divide one month's index value by another: amount x (latest index / index of the month you picked). Every index value is an officially published figure or an exact rebasing of one - nothing here is interpolated and nothing is forecast. CPI is published about a month late, so "today" on this page means the newest month we hold, and that month is printed on the result.
